The first tanuki I've ever seen in the wild! (i.e. not taxidermied). This guy was dried up and empty of all meat and laying by the edge of the sidewalk for about 3 weeks. I kind of wanted to take him home with me, but was afraid of disease and bugs. This photo is also a neck-stretching exercise. Enjoy.
